ARTIST’S HOUSE: Who is Tanisha Hereast?

TANISHA HEREAST: I am someone who is very open-minded, determined, creative, and I do have a silly side.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: The best moment in your career?

TANISHA HEREAST: My best moment is booking my first lead role in an indie film. It was 3 days after I was just laid off from my job at the time.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: What are your favorite parts about acting or your career in general?

TANISHA HEREAST: My favorite part of acting is bringing a part of MYSELF into the characters that I portray. Even the same role is performed differently. I like showing the director what they may be wanting to see come alive but he/she might not be sure what that is. 🤔😏

ARTIST’S HOUSE: The first thing that comes to your mind when you think about acting?

TANISHA HEREAST: The first thing that comes to mind is happiness! Creativity!

ARTIST’S HOUSE: What are your goals you dream of achieving someday?

TANISHA HEREAST: I hope I become a permanent cast member of a very popular show with high ratings. I dream to someday make a living from my acting career.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: What is the biggest lesson in life you learned so far?

TANISHA HEREAST: My biggest lesson in life was my first time being cheated on by my first love. It taught be to me less naive.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Do you love life, and why?

TANISHA HEREAST: I love love and all its challenges. Because life itself is full. Full of responsibility, pleasure, disappointment, grieve, heartache. It's all a part of it.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: What are your favorite childhood memories?

TANISHA HEREAST: One of my youngest favorite memories is when I was about 2 years old. My mom used to take my hand and we would run underneath the long trucks that were high up. Of course they were parked and we weren't in any danger.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: What are you working on at the moment? What else do you plan to work on in the near future?

TANISHA HEREAST: At the moment, I'm currently working on a lead role named Cynthia in an indie film called "Single Mom". As soon as that's done, I'll be working on a few other indie films, one of which is written by myself.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: If you played the part of Juliet, who would you like to play Romeo?

TANISHA HEREAST: Hmm. There's a new question. No one comes to mind at the moment.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: What kind of film genres do you like playing in the most? What are your favorite to watch?

TANISHA HEREAST: I've only done drama. I'm open to other genres. I love to watch romantic comedies, comedy, and drama. Recently, I've been thinking of trying superhero drama. I also liked Will Smith's role in Aladdin.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Favorite food? Favorite snack?

TANISHA HEREAST: Favorite foods are salmon, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and I love veggies! One of my favorite snacks is cinnamon graham crackers with ice cream between 2. My version of an ice cream sandwich. I love frozen yogurt, cake, and cookies.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Places you would like to travel to?

TANISHA HEREAST: I want to travel to Germany, Brazil, London, P.R, L.A, and ATL.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Your favorite acting job you've had? How did you get it?

TANISHA HEREAST: Single Mom. The indie film I'm currently working on. I got it from a director friend of mine, Mr. Cazi Sweet.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Is having an acting career a hard commitment?

TANISHA HEREAST: It is time consuming but I love it. I'll love it even more when the money follows. I'm already doing what I love.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: The best moment from behind-the-scenes?

TANISHA HEREAST: Lol. There's this scene from Single Mom where the love interest goes to shake my hand and I reject him by saying, "No sorry. My hands are dirty." after throwing out trash, and he was totally thrown off. It was funny. You had to be there, lol.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Did you ever have a difficult partner while filming a movie? If yes, what was the issue and how did you solve it?

TANISHA HEREAST: No, thank goodness.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Where in the world would you want to film a movie at most?

TANISHA HEREAST: I would just be grateful. I don't mind the destination.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: When you think about the future, where do you see yourself?

TANISHA HEREAST: Living out my acting dreams! I would love to meet Jada Pinkett Smith also.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: How do you stay positive?

TANISHA HEREAST: I remind myself that situations could be a lot worse. I tell myself, “You might not be where you want to be YET, but you certainly aren't where you were.”. Just in general I try to look for the good in EVERY situation no matter how bad it may feel.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Would you ever consider writing a movie? What kind of movie it would be?

TANISHA HEREAST: I have actually written my first short film. I hope to be filming at some point this year. It is a film about a certain phobia. Something that we don't hear about too often. I'll leave it at that. Lol. Stay tuned!

ARTIST’S HOUSE: If you could spend whole day with a person, who would it be and why?

TANISHA HEREAST: My mom. She has made so many sacrifices for me throughout my years. I don't know what I would do without her. We have our occasional disagreements but at the end it the day, I know NO ONE will ever have my back like her.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: How do you see yourself as a woman, as an actress? What is your power?

TANISHA HEREAST: As a woman, I am surprisingly strong emotionally. I'm caring and nurturing. I try my best to be an effective communicator. As an actress, I'm dedicated and hard working. I give it my all and commit. Above all, I'm professional.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Any funny moments from the film sets?

TANISHA HEREAST: Answered in one of the previous questions.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Do you think everyone could learn to act and become good at this profession?

TANISHA HEREAST: No, it's not as easy as it appears. Takes lots of courage. Must be able to take constructive criticism, be able to apply it, and not have it ruin "your game".

ARTIST’S HOUSE: What do your mornings look like? What's your favorite thing to have for breakfast?

TANISHA HEREAST: My mornings are usually hectic with me being a mom, and I'm still not a morning person so I rather sleep that extra 20 minutes. So it's usually lots of rushing. I have tea in the morning with something light. Overall, my favorite breakfast is French toast and sausage or shrimp and grits with with peppers and onions.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Money or love, and why?

TANISHA HEREAST: I have mixed feelings about this. While true love is hard to come by and is BEAUTIFUL, I do have bills though. 😏

ARTIST’S HOUSE: What is love to you?

TANISHA HEREAST: Understanding, compromise, forgiveness, being open minded, and willing to grow. That is what love is to me.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: If you could choose between playing a warrior woman or a princess, which role would you choose and why?

TANISHA HEREAST: I would choose warrior because it is new to me.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: What's something you didn't expect about having an acting career?

TANISHA HEREAST: I didn't expect for filming to take so long… It really is a process.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Any other hobbies or jobs you have?

TANISHA HEREAST: I enjoy knitting, arts and crafts, and shopping. I can't resist a good deal. Last weekend I was filming and my scene partner was giving AWAY kittens!!! I'm allergic to cats. I came home with that kitten though. Lol she was too cute! She also gave me the litter box, litter, and food. I HAD TO say yes!

ARTIST’S HOUSE: What has been a hard part of your journey/career so far? How did you overcome it?

TANISHA HEREAST: Being patient and not getting discouraged. I remind myself, "Just because you didn't get selected, does not mean that you're not great. It just means they found someone who fits the role better.".

ARTIST’S HOUSE: What's one of your favorite things about yourself?

TANISHA HEREAST: I'm naturally very compassionate, whether I've known you for 10 years or 2 minutes. I love my quirky silliness and sense of humor. I love that I have a youthful look, allowing me to be flexible with roles. Lol sorry, that's 3.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: If you could say a few words of advice to people who think about having an acting career, what would you say to them?

TANISHA HEREAST: Be patient. Listen to learn, learn to listen, then apply. Take a few acting classes, join local theaters to see if you like it. It's not for everyone.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Where can your fans find you online?

TANISHA HEREAST: Tanisha Hereast on IMDB, YouTube, Facebook and IG.

ARTIST’S HOUSE: Anything else you would like to share with anyone who's reading this interview?

TANISHA HEREAST: My family, friends, and people I work with call me Nisha. 😏 I am always looking to stay active on a stage or in front of a camera. If you or someone you know is looking for an actress, please don't hesitate to reach out.
