TVS Jupiter 2025 : The scooter, that humble workhorse of transportation, has traveled a long way in the last decade.
Forbozaan: Driving this transformation is TVS Motor Company, all poised to introduce the 2025 model of its successful Jupiter with a big upmarket mobility.
I had the opportunity to check out the new model in person last week at TVS’s ground near Hosur, and the premium updates are clear to see.
The Jupiter is no longer the sensible Honda Activa alternative. TVS With its 2025 Runner, TVS is saying in very loud voice that practicality and premium contents do not need to be divorced and bitter feud ensue.

TVS Jupiter 2025 Design: Slick Without the Flashy

The 2025 Jupiter retains its traditional shape – TVS obviously knows that futuristic designs can turn away existing customers.
But the particulars have been polished a great deal. Up front, the apron is more angular and gets chrome treatment in angles that catch good light. LED position lamps frame a new contoured headlight, which provides the scooter with a classier face.
“We wanted to elevate the design, without being intimidating,” Ravi Kumar, a senior designer at TVS who I was shown around by during my visit, explained.
“The Jupiter has always been about accessibility, and we’ve retained that while bringing in even more premium touches.
What I really liked it the new two-tone seat with contrasting stitching – a small feature, but one that really enhances the bike’s look.
The side panels have been subtly resculpted, revealing more chiseled character lines without appearing fussy.
As I walked around the new model, I also saw that the new matte paint options (especially the Titanium Grey paintwork) really make the scooter feel more mature than it used to.
The body panels are beautifully fitted and finished with consistent panel gaps that would be impressive on much more expensive vehicles.
All Features- Technology That Makes Sense Contents: TruMPIXLE- Makes M2A2 Buy It?
Where some manufacturers will throw technology at the bikes just to pad the brochure, TVS seems to have taken a more considered approach to things.
There is so much about the 2025 Jupiter that is not based on marketing hype but actually adds to the overall ownership experience.
The all-digital instrument cluster is well integrated and now comes with smartphone connectivity thanks to TVS’s newer SmartXonnect system.
The Jupiter’s system is surprisingly intuitive, which wasn’t the case on some complex interfaces I tested recently.
I was able to pair my phone and bring up navigation directions in seconds, during our demo–without once consulting the instructions.
“We found that riders were actually using navigation, call alerts and service reminders,” said Vijay Sharma, connectivity features specialist for TVS.
“So we concentrated on making those experiences seamless, not a bunch of bells and whistles that sound great and you really never use.”
More smart features come into the mix – there’s also a front compartment for a USB-C port that’ll charge your phone on the move, an anti-theft alarm with remote immobilizer, and an auto-reply SMS in response to incoming phone calls when you’re on your bike.
TVS Jupiter 2025 Storage Solutions: Almost-Premium
Storage has always been an area of focus for the Jupiter and especially the case with the 2025 model.
A redesigned under-seat storage holds a full-face helmet with organizational dividers that keep smaller items from sliding around.
I also liked the new front glovebox, which finally has slots to keep a phone, wallet, and a small bottle of water separate.
Items don’t rattle and get scratched, thanks to a soft rubber lining – the sort of detail you’d expect in a luxury car, not a scooter.
“We looked at how people use their scooters in their lives, which is quite different from conventional wisdom,” said Priya Nair, a member of TVS’s product planning team.
“We found riders didn’t have an adequate place to safely keep their phone or wallet, so when things such as paying for tolls become a bit clumsy you don’t have to take the phone out of your pocket anymore. “These compartments answer a real problem.”
The front hook is also redesigned to fold away more flush when unused, and apparently can take heavier loads – up to 5kg, says TVS.
TVS Jupiter 2025 Ride Quality: The Surprise of the Show
Though the visual and feature enhancements strike immediately, what really came as a surprise to me on my short ride around TVS’s test track was that the ride quality had been taken up a notch.
All-new Suspension The upgraded 2025 Jupiter gets all-new suspension with a gas-charged rear shock that does an excellent job of swallowing bumps.
The front end therefore feels more solid while braking now, confidence inspiring in emergency circumstances.
What impressed me the most was how much less the vibration felt. Under increased speeds the Jupiter continued to hold its composure; vibrations were slight through the floorboard and the handle bars.
This is what really counts during riders of more than decent length and is what will actually reduce fatigue.
“We rewrote the entire book of engine mounting points,” said Sanjay Reddy, a senior engineer who accompanied me on the first test ride.
“We’ve gone the extra step of adding more insulation between the powertrain and body to better prevent the transfer of vibration. It’s not something that gets quoted in the ads, but every person will appreciate it every day.”
TVS Jupiter 2025 Engine:Smooth Operator
Beneath the sharper bodywork the 110 cc engine of the 2025 Jupiter is retained albeit in a updated version to make 8.2 PS and 8.7 Nm of torque.
Though not major increases over the outgoing model, these figures come accompanied by far sharper refinement and throttle response.
The transmission retains the same 7-steps variomatic CVT setup, which has been retuned to improve the initial pick up with no compromise on fuel efficiency, which TVS says can deliver up to 62 kmpl certified.
On my test ride, I found the engine more responsive for pulling away from a stop — a good thing in city traffic.
The idle is so refined that the start stop (it is available on the higher trims) system is near unnoticeable.
“What we have done is we concentrated a bit on linear power delivery and NVH overall refinement.” Reddy said. “It’s not just peak numbers but how the engine behaves day to day.”
TVS Jupiter 2025 Market Positioning And Pricing
Naturally, with all these luxury upgrades, the 2025 Jupiter will demand a price premium over the outgoing model.
TVS hasn’t confirmed prices officially just yet but sources within the dealer network indicate the pricing for the base variant will commence at about ₹ 85,000 (ex-showroom) or so with the top of the line ZX Disc model likely to go well past the ₹ 1 lakh mark.
This means going toe-to-toe with Honda’s Activa 125 and Suzuki’s Access 125, but with a features list that promises better value.
“The scooter space is maturing and evolving,” Ramesh Iyer, a TVS dealer I interviewed on my tour of the factory, told me.
“We’ve got customers who will pay more now for features and feel that level of refinement, particularly with the financing options that are there, the monthly difference is very manageable. Those days are gone when people used to buy scooters for price and mileage.”
TVS Jupiter 2025 Conclusion: Raising the Bar
The 2025 TVS Jupiter is a big leap for a scooter model that has sold more than 5 million units till date.
And TVS have not been resting on its laurels, it’s evident they’ve dived into the changing market dynamics and customer perceptions.
But what struck me most about the new Jupiter was not any one feature, but the comprehensive thoughtfulness employed in this sweet upgrade.
Everything about it from the sleek design to the smooth ride quality, screams attention to detail and who it’s built for.
As urban mobility develops and scooters become more and more lifestyle than simple mode of transport, the Jupiter 2025 looks spot-on to fill the gap between commuter focus and premium aspirations.
Slated to arrive at showrooms as early as September 2025, it seems like this premium iteration of India’s most-loved scooter will push the boundaries of what the target audience have come to expect from this segment.
